The Center proudly sponsored ADL Orange County/Long Beach‘s online community forum “Is Free Speech Destroying Itself Online?” on Tuesday, June 2nd. UC Irvine Law School Professor and Center Academic Advisory Board member David Kaye, a legal expert on free speech and the internet, and Lenora Clair, an online hate activist, presented on and discussed such questions as: “What happens with unfettered online behavior crosses the line to unlawful conduct—both online and on the ground? Just like we are not permitted to yell fire in a crowded movie theater, are there limits to what can be sent or posted online? Where are those limits and who gets to draw them?”
