UC Dialogue Fellows Program

Applications are now open for the UC Dialogue Fellows.

UC Office of the President — Graduate, Undergraduate and Equity Affairs and Institutional Research and Academic Planning — and the UC National Center for Free Speech and Civic Engagement (“Center”) invite UC faculty and policy-covered staff to apply for a pilot fellowship program designed to enhance and expand the teaching of dialogue skills to UC students.

Through $5,000 grants, the fellowship supports projects that teach dialogue skills in curricular settings or strengthen the capacity of faculty and instructors to teach these skills. The program prioritizes projects that enhance individual teaching practice and that produce adaptable, shareable resources for use across UC.

UC faculty and policy-covered staff are eligible to apply. Applicants from across disciplines, campus roles and UC locations are encouraged to submit proposals.

The fellowship program will run from October 1, 2026 to June 30, 2027.

For more information on the fellowship and the application process, please join us for an information session on July 29 at 11:00 a.m. Yvette Gullatt, vice president for Graduate and Undergraduate Affairs and vice provost for Equity, Diversity and Inclusion, and Pamela Brown, vice president for Institutional Research and Academic Planning, will discuss their perspectives on the importance of teaching dialogue skills and on this pilot fellowship program.
